Make a Fall Table Runner with Me!

This autumn French Braid Table Runner may look complicated, but it’s one of those projects that’s pure quilting magic – fast, fun, and so satisfying to make!

In my latest video, I’ll show you how to create the French braid design using jelly rolls, 2.5” wide strips you cut yourself from yardage, OR pieces cut from leftover scraps from other projects.

We’ll cover fabric selection, layout ideas for grouping fabrics by color or alternating by value, and sewing, pressing and staystitching tips, that will help your table runner come together beautifully.

Watch the full tutorial below and see how easy it is to create this stunning braid effect:

Bonus for Quilting Friends members: You can download a free printable resource for this project with fabric requirements, cutting sizes, and finished dimensions for both table runner sizes. You can access it in the Membership section on my channel home page.

When health challenges made hand-sewing (and hand appliqué and hand-quilting) no longer physically viable for her, Beth Ann’s first instinct was dismay and discouragement. But Grandma Baldwin gave her a loving (but stern!) “No pity parties – just figure out a different way.” So Beth Ann turned to her trusty sewing machine and began devising ways to achieve the fine quality appliqué look she craved faster and easier than she ever thought possible. And a career was born! Now Beth Ann enjoys sharing her accessible “invisible” machine appliqué and creative machine quilting techniques with other quilters and fiber artists around the world.
